South Korean soccer player Lee Young-pyo of Tottenham Hotspur has decided to stay with his English team, scrapping what his agents called a "nearly sealed" deal on his transfer to Italy's AS Roma.

His agents said Wednesday that the terms of pay and other conditions with the Italian club were all settled but Lee did not agree to it at the last minute.

An official at AS Roma said Lee's decision had to do with his religious faith.
