A Japanese sports daily says that South Korean slugger Lee Seung-yeop of Japan's pro baseball team Yomiuri Giants will likely opt for the U.S. Major League if he is offered the same conditions by both countries.

The Sports Nippon quoted Lee as hinting at his transfer to the U.S. after this season if the terms of the contract are similar. The daily said that the Giants are considering raising his pay to keep him.

Nippon said the Japanese team could lose Lee in pay negotiations as Major League scouters speak highly of the Korean player.
