With the end of the typhoon season and the end of August quickly approaching, the sultry heat wave is officially over and early autumn-like weather is forecast for the time being.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Monday however that hot afternoons hitting 30 degrees Celsius sandwiched between cool mornings and evenings will at least continue until the end of the month.

The daily temperature gap will increasingly widen until fall arrives in full force.
