Swimmer Park Tae-hwan has won the gold medal in the 15-hundred-meter freestyle swimming event at the 2006 Pan-Pacific Swimming Championships in British Columbia, Canada.

The Korean Swimming Federation said that the 17-year-old Park on Monday touched the finish line with a time of 15 minutes and six-point-11 seconds.
