Swimmer Wins Gold at Int'l Championship

Male swimmer Park Tae-hwan has won a gold medal at the Pan-Pacific Swimming Championships in British Columbia, Canada.

On the third day of the competition Saturday, Park reached the finish line in three minutes and 45 seconds in the men's 400-meter freestyle, breaking the previous Asian record set by Takeshi Matsuda of Japan last year.

Park also broke his personal record of three minutes and 48 seconds set last year.

He is also the first South Korean to win a regular course at an international swimming championship.
