The national soccer team will face Taiwan Wednesday evening for its preliminary game of the Asian Cup competition.

The team is determined to win the first A-match game under coach Pim Verbeek who was appointed to succeed former coach Dick Advocaat in June.

Star strikers like Ahn Jung-hwan, Park Chu-young and Lee Chun-soo aim to score many points in the game as Taiwan, a relatively weak team, is expected to focus on defense.
