Coach Verbeek Announce Entry for Asian Cup

Korea’s national soccer team coach Pim Verbeek has finalized his selection of 20 players for the 2007 Asian Cup qualifiers in Taiwan.

The Dutch coach on Thursday announced a list of 20 players chosen from a pool of 36 at the national team’s training camp in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

He picked Kim Yong-dae and Kim Youngkwang as goalkeepers, Kim Jin-kyu, Kim Sang-sik, Kim Young-chul and Oh Bum-suk as center defenders. Cho Won-hee, Jang Hak-young and Song Chong-gug were selected for wing positions.

Baek Ji-hoon, Kim Do-heon, Kim Jung-woo, Kim Nam-il and Lee Eul-yong will take the midfield, while Ahn Jung-hwan, Cho Jae-jin, Choi Sung-kook, Jung Jo-gook, Lee Chun-soo and Park Ju-young were named strikers.
