The Japanese media is highlighting news of South Korean slugger Lee Seung-yeop's four hundredth career homerun.

In a Tuesday match against the Hanshin Tigers, Lee, playing for the Yomiuri Giants, hit two homers including a walk-off homer in the ninth inning that stretched his tally to four hundred and one home runs.

Tokyo's media hailed his performance saying both homers were scored off pitches from Japan's leading pitcher Kei Igawa.

Papers said that Lee is struggling to overcome his team's lackluster season, quoting his remark that he puts the team's win before his personal record.

Some also cited Lee's two miserable years with Chiba Lotte Marines during which he was hardly given a chance to play due to his reputed weakness against left-handed pitchers.

He left the Marines and joined the Giants in Japan's pro baseball league early this year.
