Three North Korean soccer players have been suspended and will miss the play-offs for third place in the Women's Asian Cup after striking an umpire in the semi-final match against China Thursday night.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said goalkeeper Han Hye-yong and defenders Son Kyong Sun and Song Jung Sun will miss the third-place match against Japan on Sunday.

According to the AFC, Han Hye-yong kicked Italian referee Anna De Toni from behind after being red carded for violent play.

The other two players were also suspended for one game after throwing bottles and other objects at officials and spectators.
