The national women’s soccer team on Monday lost to North Korea in the Asia Football Confederation’s Asian Cup 2006 in Australia.

With the 0-1 loss to the North in the final match of Group B, the South Korean team marked two wins and two losses, failed to advance to the second round.

The team also failed to secure a berth for the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament slated for next year in China.

Meanwhile, the North Korean team advanced into the semifinals in the nine-country tournament.
