Ethnic Korean Wins U.S. Jr. Golf Tourney

Korean-American golfer Jenny Shin has won the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.

At Carmel Country Club in North Carolina Saturday, Shin beat Vicky Hurst in 37 holes to become the tournament's second-youngest winner at 13 years and nine months.

The event's youngest winner was another player of Korean descent, Aree Song, who was 13 years and 3 months when she took the title in 1999. Song was born to a Korean father and a Thai mother.
