KBS to Install Camera for Disaster Coverage

The Korean Broadcasting System says it will install a panorama camera for disaster coverage this month at a maritime science base in Ieo Island, south of the resort island Jeju.

The satellite controlled camera can observe a typhoon's course and move at least 24 hours before its arrival and can stand strong winds of up to 60 meters per second.

KBS, the country's main disaster broadcast, had set up similar cameras on Mara Island in 2004 and the Dokdo islets last year.
