Korean, U.S. Institutes Join Hands to Fight Cancer

Korea’s National Cancer Center said Wednesday that it forged a partnership with the U.S. National Cancer Institute for joint research and exchanges.

Under the partnership, the two institutions plan to carry out joint projects in developing cures for stomach and liver cancers and cooperation in bioengineering.

The U.S. National Cancer Institute is the one of the world’s most renowned cancer research body with an annual budget of about $4.8 billion and 4,000 researchers.
