Researchers Develop Treatment for Bird Flu

Domestic researchers have developed an effective material for treating avian influenza.

Seoul National University’s School of Veterinary Medicine said Tuesday that the material named "AI-1365" extracted from branches and leaves of alder trees proved to be effective and safe enough in treating avian influenza without causing any side effects.

The domestic bioengineering company RNL Bio commissioned the research.

Additional tests by the British medical test organization Retroscreen Virology also confirmed the medical viability of the material.
