Body to Promote Coop in Science and Tech.

South Korea and Japan have agreed to set up a consultative body that would seek to promote cooperation and exchanges in science and technology.

Science and Technology Minister Kim Woo-sik and his Japanese counterpart Iwao Matsuda reached the agreement in Tokyo Monday.

The Science Ministry said the two sides have also agreed to promote a meeting with the science and technology ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, South Korea, China and Japan. The two nations will also cooperate in the production of oxygen for nuclear power.

The two sides plan to strengthen cooperation in the fields of information technology, nanotechnology and biotechnology while actively promoting the exchange of young scientists.
