Italy Wins 4th World Cup Title

Italy captured its fourth World Cup title in 24 years on Sunday by beating France in a 5-to-3 penalty shootout victory.

During the final match in Berlin, France was the first to score with Zinedine Zidane scoring a penalty kick in the seventh minute. But Italy's Marco Materazzi followed up with an equalizer 12 minutes later.

In the one-hundred-tenth minute during extra-time, Zidane's career came to an ugly end when a red card sent him out of his final game.

In World Cup titles, Italy is now only second to Brazil, which has won five times.
