Nation ranks 12th for Science Papers

South Korea ranked 12th in the world for the number of science and technology papers published in international journals last year.

The Education Ministry said the nation had published around twenty-three-thousand scientific papers last year, taking up around two-point-three percent of the total papers printed across the world.

The United States topped the list followed by Britain, Japan, Germany and China.

By universities, Seoul National University came in 30th in the world for publishing around thirty-nine-hundred papers while Yonsei University came in 104th place.

Harvard University topped the list followed by Japan’s Tokyo University and UCLA.
