Baseball slugger Lee Seung-yeop is closing in on his 400th career homer, which would set a record for a South Korean player.

Lee hit 324 homers for the Samsung Lions between 1995 and 2003, and has 392 for his career including 44 with Japan's Chiba Lotte Marines and 24 with his present team, the Yomiuri Giants.

He is likely to hit his 400th homer before the Japan All-Star Game on July 21st.

Forty-one American and 13 Japanese players have hit 400 career homers.
