Golfer Jeong Jang won the Wegmans LPGA tournament on Sunday, closing with a two-under 70 for a one-stroke victory over Paraguay's Julieta Granada.
The 26-year-old Jang claimed her second career LPGA Tour title by finishing at 13-under 275 on the Locust Hill course in Pittsford, a suburb of Rochester, New York.
Five South Koreans finished in the top ten, with Kim Mi-hyun at fifth and Gloria Park at sixth.
Jang earned 270-thousand dollars to jump from eleventh to seventh on this year's LPGA money list with over 650-thousand dollars. Five South Koreans are also among the list's top ten.
Defending champion Lorena Ochoa closed with a 69 to tie for sixth at nine under. The Mexican star stayed atop the money list with one-point-two million dollars.
Jang is the eighth South Korean winner on the tour this season, which has so far had 15 tournaments. Her win is also the fourth in a row by a South Korean since Han Hee-won’s Corning Classic victory late last month.
Jang sprang to prominence last July with a wire-to-wire win at the Women's British Open. She is the first South Korean to win the tournament at the Locust Hill course.
