The national soccer team arrived home Sunday afternoon after its elimination from the World Cup in Germany.
Around 100 fans and Korea Football Association officials waited at Incheon International Airport to greet the team.
The team lost, 2-0, against Switzerland Friday and finished third in Group G with four points.
Griping over the controversial referee call that allowed the second Swiss goal, the Taegeuk Warriors pledged a better result in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
After a brief ceremony at the airport, team members disbanded.
South Korea finished 17th in the World Cup, and was the only team with four points that missed the second round.
Defender Lee Young-pyo was named as one of the best eleven players from the 16 teams that failed to qualify for the second round.
