The national soccer team has pledged to do its best to advance to the World Cup's second round by winning its final Group G game against Switzerland Friday in Hanover, Germany.
Coach Dick Advocaat on Friday expressed confidence against the Swiss, saying he will use a more attacking strategy from the first half against Switzerland after the team's weak play against France.
South Korea must win to guarantee a second-round advance but could still move on if France loses to or ties Togo.
Veteran striker Ahn Jung-hwan, South Korea's all-time scoring leader in the World Cup, said his team's high-tempo game and pressure will result in a victory over Switzerland.
England-based players Park Ji-sung and Lee Young-pyo also said that reaching the round of 16 is the team's goal.
Lee said South Korea's first World Cup win away from home soil over Togo and its draw with France show that the team has come a long way.
South Korea and Switzerland both have four points, but the Swiss lead Group G by one in goal difference.
