U.N. Opens Info-Tech Center in Incheon

A United Nations agency for information technology training opened in Incheon Friday with financial support from South Korea.

About 300 guests including executive secretary of the U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Kim Hak-su and Incheon Mayor Ahn Sang-soo attended the opening ceremony of the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development,

Located in the port city's free economic zone, the center is the first U.N. affiliate in the country and will hold six lectures a year to train about 120 officials from 62 member countries.
