Seoul Tops World in E-Government

Seoul had the best e-government among 100 world cities last year for the second consecutive year.

Sungkyunkwan University's Graduate School of Governance in Seoul said Wednesday that the capital had the most points in its survey with 81-point-seven.

New York was second with 72-point-two, followed by Shanghai, Hong Kong and Sydney.

Seoul scored especially high in security and personal data protection, administrative services and civic participation.

The survey evaluated the online abilities of one-hundred municipal governments worldwide in cooperation with the E-Government Institute of Rutgers University of the United States.

Seoul on Wednesday received an award for e-government at an international conference held at the university.
