Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook, currently on her European tour, on Tuesday watched the national soccer team’s World Cup opener against Togo in Germany and met with the players afterward.

After watching the game with the World Cup organizing committee chairman Franz Beckenbauer, donning a red cap and scarf, Han went down to the field and congratulated coach Dick Advocaat and the players for their two-to-one victory.

She shook hands with each player and expressed joy to see the team win.

The match was held at a closed-roof Frankfurt stadium due to the unsuitable weather.

The prime minister earlier visited France, Portugal and Bulgaria in her ten-day tour. Germany is her last stop.
