Nat'l Team Arrives in Frankfurt for WC Opener

The national soccer team has arrived in Frankfurt, Germany, for its World Cup opener Tuesday against Togo.

Coach Dick Advocaat and the team arrived at 8 a.m. Monday at the Arabella Sheraton Hotel. Clad in white tops and dark blue shorts, players had a clear expression on their faces and went to lunch after checking in.

Team technical director Lee Young-moo said the team will do its best to uphold the expectations of the South Korean people and fans.

The team will arrive at Frankfurt World Cup Stadium at 1 p.m. Tuesday for a final practice before the game.

Togo's team also arrived in Frankfurt. The African team, whose coach Otto Pfister abruptly left over a pay dispute, will have assistant coach Kodjovi Mawuena in control against South Korea.
