Coach Advocaat Linked to Russian Pro Team

Reports say national soccer coach Dick Advocaat has signed a contract with the Russian pro team Zenit St. Petersburg.

Zenit President Sergei Fursenko told journalists Friday that the team and Advocaat have agreed on all terms and conditions and that the coach will take over shortly after the World Cup in Germany.

A Dutch daily also reported that Advocaat signed last month a two-year contract worth two million dollars a year with Zenit.

The 58-year-old Dutchman on Thursday also confirmed to the Russian daily Sovietsky Sport that he is in negotiations with Zenit, but that he has decided nothing.

He said he can choose to stay with South Korea or coach in England or Russia.
