Korean Broadcasting System on Thursday began a test run of its multicast service for digital television.

Dubbed MMS, the new service enables KBS to use a digital TV bandwidth to broadcast high-definition programs simultaneously with a standard definition channel and data broadcasting.

KBS will continue pilot service throughout the World Cup soccer finals in Germany.

With MMS, KBS has added two digital TV channels for ten overall.
