The nation's penetration rate of ultra-high speed Internet is the highest in the world.

Forrester Research of the United States on Thursday said the penetration rate was 62 percent … the highest among the 16 countries and regions surveyed.

Hong Kong was second at 57 percent followed by the Netherlands and Canada at 51 percent each.

Japan ranked fifth at 50 percent followed by Sweden at 43 percent and urban areas in China at 41 percent.

Forrester said improving the design, function and security of Web sites is the key to boosting Internet use.
