The national soccer team on Sunday showed its vulnerability on defense and to superior physical play in a 3-1 loss to Ghana in Scotland.
In the final warm-up game for both teams before the World Cup, Ghana used its superior quickness, technique and stamina against South Korea, which suffered from a multitude of missed passes and disorganization.
Both teams were almost at full strength, hoping to impress before the grand tournament's opening Friday in Germany.
Asamoah Gyan scored first for Ghana in the 35th minute when he converted a penalty kick after South Korean defender Kim Dong-jin was called for a handball in the penalty area.
Veteran midfielder Lee Eul-yong tied the game in the 49th minute when he rocketed a shot past Ghanian goalkeeper Sammy Adjei. The goalie got a hand on the ball but it bounced into the net.
Ghana, however, continued to press with its relentless attack to frustrate and confuse the South Korean defense. Sulley Muntari in the 67th minute took a free kick and headed it into goal as his country regained the lead.
Ghana's star midfielder Michael Essien added insurance in the 81st minute as he took a short pass in the penalty box and scored.
