Mixed martial arts fighter Choi Hong-man says he will put on a good match against reigning K-1 Grand Prix champion Semmy Schilt of the Netherlands.
Speaking at a news conference Thursday on his Saturday match against Schilt, Choi said he can straight punch Schilt because of their similar heights. Choi is 7-feet-2 and Schilt 6-feet-11.
Choi, a former ssireum wrestler, said he has fully recovered from an ankle injury that stifled him in his win in April over The Predator, an American pro wrestler, in the K-1 tournament in Las Vegas.
Schilt, meanwhile, said he will use his knee and jumping kicks to beat Choi, adding he looks forward to the fight given their similar sizes.
Meanwhile, K-1 veteran Ray Sefo said Choi has a 50-50 chance of beating Schilt, while another stalwart Peter Aerts said the Dutchman will prevail because of his experience.
