NFL Star Sets Up Biracial Kids' Foundation

American football star Hines Ward will set up a foundation to help needy biracial children in South Korea.

In a news conference Monday in Seoul, the Super Bowl MVP said donations from South Korean sponsors have reached 1.2 million dollars to add to his contribution of a million dollars.

Ward said the foundation will award scholarships in the name of "Young-hee and Ward," calling the foundation a gift to his mother. Young-hee is the name of his mother.

In a message to biracial children in the nation, Ward said he has special feelings for mixed-race children from his previous visit to Seoul and pledged efforts and sacrifice for them as his mother did for him.
