American football star Hines Ward has received a large donation at a charity event attended by domestic celebrities to set up a foundation for biracial children in the country.

Ward on Saturday received the donation from Broadin Entertainment, the organizer of a charity bazaar to encourage the national soccer team at the World Cup in Germany.

At the event, he put up for online auction a painting by artist Kim Ki-chang and a mobile phone with his signature. All proceeds will go to set up the foundation.

Earlier in the day, Ward and Pearl S. Buck International CEO Janet L. Mintzer agreed to set up the foundation.
