Striker Ahn Linked to Scottish Cup Champ

Soccer striker Ahn Jung-hwan has attracted interest from Scottish Cup winner Heart of Midlothian FC.

BBC Sport said Tuesday that the player's agent Tom Sanders has talked two or three times with Hearts' interim coach Valdas Ivanauskas, but added three English and three German teams have also asked about Ahn.

Ahn had a disappointing season for FC Metz of France, and later moved to Duisberg of Germany. The player remains popular in his native country, however, and is best known for scoring the golden goal in 2002 that sent South Korea to the World Cup quarterfinals.

He is expected to leave Duisburg, with Sanders saying a clause in Ahn's contract allows him to leave for 750,000 euros.

Sanders said his client will probably make a decision after the World Cup.

The Hearts finished second in the Scottish Premier League and won the Scottish Cup last season.
