Defender Cha Du-ri Moves to FSV Meinz

Germany-based soccer defender Cha Du-ri has moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to FSV Meinz 05.

Meinz on its Web site Tuesday said Cha was signed to a two-year deal as a right wingback, with its coach Christian Heidel calling the player strong, fast and agressssive.

Having played four seasons in the Bundesliga, Cha scored three goals and had two assists in 27 games for Eintracht this season.

A member of the South Korean team in the 2002 World Cup, he is the son of former star Cha Bum-kun, who scored 98 goals in the Bundesliga in the 1980s.

Cha, however, did not make the final roster for this year's tournament, but was selected as a standby player.
