Togo First to Arrive in Germany

Togo’s soccer team is in Germany, the first to arrive there among the 32 teams that will play in the 2006 World Cup.

Togo's team left the Netherlands and arrived in Wangen, Germany on Monday, where they were greeted enthusiastically by some 300 German well-wishers.

Head coach Otto Pfister expressed confidence that the team would advance to the round of 16.

Togo is expected begin training on Tuesday and has four friendlies scheduled before the World Cup, with the first slated for June 2nd against Liechtenstein.
