Final World Cup Team Roster Announced

National soccer coach Dick Advocaat has announced the final 23-man team roster for the World Cup in Germany.

Five of the nation's six players based in Europe were on the list released Thursday in Seoul midfielders Park Ji-sung and Lee Eul-yong, defender Lee Young-pyo and strikers Ahn Jung-hwan and Seol Ki-hyeon.

Ten of the 23 players named were on the 2002 team that reached the World Cup semifinals.

Surprises included young goalie Kim Yong-dae of the domestic pro team Seongnam Ilwha, who beat out veteran Kim Byung-ji, and 2002 World Cup defender Song Chong-gug, who has battled injuries over the past four years.

Advocaat also named five reserve players, including Germany-based defender Cha Du-ri.
