Korean Broadcasting System and Korea Telecom have unveiled the world's first service to combine terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting and mobile wireless technology, or WiBro.

The two companies on Thursday held a ceremony to mark the launch at KBS headquarters in Seoul.

The service allows the viewing of TV programs by simply connecting a receiver to WiBro handsets. Subscribers can also watch DMB programs while searching for data related to the programs through WiBro Internet service.

A Korea Telecom staff said the new service will promote both DMB and WiBro services and later add features such as interactive ads on game shows or quiz programs.
