The security robot to be used in the World Cup soccer finals in Germany on Wednesday made its debut in South Korea.

As the world's first mobile security robot for outdoor surveillance, OFRO is a tank-shaped robot standing 1.4 meters tall and weighing 65 kilograms.

OFRO can patrol the perimeter of a soccer stadium as fast as seven kilometers an hour to detect trespassers and explosives.

The domestic robot manufacturer DU Hitec said it signed an agreement with OFRO's developer Robowatch Technologies to mass produce the robot for the global market from next year.
