Hyundai Motor Delivers World Cup Cars

Hyundai Motor has delivered cars for use at the World Cup soccer finals.

As the official car of the tournament, Hyundai on Friday delivered the first fleet of cars and buses to the event's organizing committee at World Cup Stadium in Frankfurt, Germany.

South Korea's largest carmaker will provide some 1,200 vehicles including the luxury sedan Equus to the president of soccer's world governing body FIFA, Joseph Blatter, committee chairman Franz Beckenbauer and delegates and athletes at the tournament.

Hyundai said it scaled down the delivery ceremony due to the arrest of Hyundai Automotive Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo on embezzlement and bribery charges.
