The nation& 039 s broadband penetration rate is the second highest in the world after Iceland.
According to a survey by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on its 30 member states, 26-point-seven households out of a hundred had broadband connection in Iceland, and 25-point-four homes in South Korea.
Northern European states were among the top ten on the list, with Japan and the United States ranking eleventh and 12th.
But Japan was tops in the penetration rate of the service Fiber To The Home (FTTH) with four-point-six million households while the U.S. ranked first in the number of total broadband subscriptions with nearly 50 million.
The survey showed the continuous dominance of digital subscriber line (DSL) connections and a trend toward faster services thanks to local area networks and cable services.
