KBS Wins U.S. Award for DMB Technology

Korean Broadcasting System has received an American award for contributing to global digital technology through its groundbreaking terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting.

The U.S. National Association of Broadcasters on Monday presented the award in an international broadcast convention in Las Vegas.

At the ceremony, the chief of the KBS technology division Yoo Kang-seok explained the features and functions of the service with a DMB phone and pledged efforts to spread high-quality digital broadcasting around the world.

With some 8,000 members worldwide, the association has given awards to networks contributing to the development of broadcast technology.
