Korean-American golf prodigy Michelle Wie has donated three-hundred million won to South Korean children suffering from incurable diseases.

Her father said Thursday that Wie and domestic mobile carrier SK Telecom each donated three-hundred million to the hospitals of Yonsei University and Korea University in Seoul.

The money will cover surgery costs for 30 children from poor families with developmental disorder and other ailments.

Wie will also set up foundations bearing her name in South Korea and the United States for more organized charity work.

She will play at the SK Telecom Open from May 4th on Yongjong Island near Incheon.
