Seismologists have implemented an integrated earthquake observation network with Japan to ensure more accurate forecasts.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Friday that the network will enable 13 earthquake observatories nationwide and 34 in Japan to exchange real-time data on South Korea's east coast and Japan's southwest coast.

The two countries began development of the network in April last year following a powerful quake in Fukuoka, Japan, in March of the same year.
