The Korea Meteorological Administration is forecasting that mid-May will see hot temperatures nationwide, with heavy rain expected in the south.

Temperatures until then will remain similar to those in previous years of nine to 18 degrees Celsius, with bright skies before southwestern air currents forecast to shoot up the mercury in mid-May.

The state-run weather agency also predicted sunny weather between this month and May, with the range of the daily temperature to widen early next month.
