The country last year fell to second behind Iceland in the world in concentration of Internet broadband.

A study by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development released Wednesday said 25.4 out of 100 South Koreans had broadband, trailing leader Iceland with 27.7.

Third place went to the Netherlands and fourth to Denmark.

The study said the United States lags behind Europe and Asia not only in the rate of Internet penetration but also in implementing next generation high-speed networks.
