Prosecutors say University of Pittsburgh professor Gerald Schatten has sent his reply to an e-mail questionnaire regarding the Hwang Woo-suk research fabrication scandal.

A prosecution official said Thursday that Schatten’s 56-page reply, which generally denied his involvement in the research fabrication, will not change the final investigation results of the scandal.

In late February, a special prosecution team investigating the uproar over allegations of faked research e-mailed the questionnaire to the American researcher. The 136-point document included a wide range of questions, including one that asked whether he had known that the stem cells cited in Hwang's research had been corrupted.
