American football star Hines Ward and his mother Kim Young-hee are visiting historic sites in Seoul.

The two on Thursday went to Gyeongbok Palace, the main castle of the Joseon Dynasty which Ward said he had Kim always wanted to see.

He said he is glad to learn the history of his mother's country.

Over the weekend, they will attend the opening game of the domestic baseball league and visit the tourist island of Jeju.
