Ward Mulls Foundation for Biracial Kids

American football star Hines Ward is considering setting up a foundation for mixed-blood children in the country.

In a news conference Tuesday at the Lotte Hotel, Ward said he is proud of his Korean heritage and that as a Seoul native, he wants to learn about Korean tradition and visit the neighborhood where his mother grew up.

He said he overcame discrimination due to his biracial heritage thanks to his Korean mother, Kim Young-hee, who taught him that race is the least important thing.

Ward said he will continue to visit and learn more about his birth country.

Kim missed the news conference due to fatigue and heavy media coverage.
