Gov't to Send 8 Anti-Terrorism Experts to WC

The government will dispatch eight anti-terrorism experts to the World Cup soccer finals in Germany.

In an international conference in Berlin on anti-terrorism measures for the event Friday, a Seoul delegation said it will dispatch the experts at the request of the German government.

The eight experts will comprise staff from the National Intelligence Service and the National Police Agency, and will monitor security for about a month.

The delegation also held a briefing on South Korea's co-hosting of the 2002 World Cup and gave recommendations to enhance security for street cheering.

Germany and the World Cup organizing committee invited to the conference some 250 anti-terrorism experts from 40 countries for briefings on security and talks on international cooperation.
