Univ. Ranked World Leader in Computers

A leading U.S. computer association has named the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology one of the world's best universities for PC systems and software.

The Association for Computing Machinery in its monthly magazine Communications of the ACM selected the institute as the university with the most research papers published in the world's six major computer journals from 2000 until 2004.

KAIST computer science professor Kim Myoung-ho was ranked seventh among scholars.

The magazine also ranked Seoul National University as fourth best, followed by Taiwan's National Chiao Tung University and the United States' Carnegie-Mellon University.
